Commissioner Jang enjoyed the Blues
and Roots Festival. He enquired as to the pruning/trimming of trees on the
right side of the stage to open up the lake view. Chair Volkow advised that
it was much improved from previous years. Staff advised that they could
review for future pruning.
Commissioner Larkin enquired as to
the park on Deer Lake Festival Lawn and the history of the placement of the
apparatus in the playground area. Staff will provide the information.
Commissioner Alzner attended the
Blues and Roots festival and it was a successful event.
Commissioner Alzner commended the
Library Board as well as Parks, Recreation and Cultural staff for the 60th
Birthday Bash that took place on September 10th with various
events taking place.
Commissioner Alzner expressed
appreciation for the Burnaby Rotarians’ fundraising towards the new Fraser
Foreshore Park Fitness Circuit.
Commissioner Alzner attended the
Willingdon Greenway open house for the public which was well attended and
staff did a good job of providing information and questionnaires.
Commissioner Alzner attended the
City/RCMP open house on September 17th. Again a commendation to
staff for a job well done.
