An application was received from the
Permai BC Association for the Alun-Alun, Indonesian Archipelago Night to be
held at the Burnaby Lake Clubhouse on 2016 August 13. Alun-Alun is a
Javanese Word for a large open common space found in villages, towns or
cities in Indonesia that functions as the heart of the city were public
spectacle, celebrations and entertainment are usually held. With the spirit
of unity and sense of community, the Permai BC Association is planning a
night market to celebrate the 71st anniversary of Indonesia's Independence
(typically held on August 17). Activities will include cultural
performances, entertainment, food and market place.
