These services include pet therapy volunteer recruitment, orientation, screening, communication, and scheduling. Administrative tasks such as criminal record checks, maintaining up to date membership and vaccination records are also a part of this role. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the organization continues to support their volunteers and facilities with creative ways to provide pet therapy, whether it’s in person, outside on a sidewalk or virtually via video call. The organization plans to reach more people this year by partnering with school boards to reach youth and other institutions that can reach frontline workers.
