Purpose: To obtain Council approval to proceed with redevelopment of the Burnaby Mountain Bike Skills Course.

Purpose: To seek Council approval for the proposed two-year plan to implement a free parking reservation program at Barnet Marine Park.

Purpose: To provide information pertaining to the Tax Sale changes proposed through Bill 3 and 42, and request Council to write a letter to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs to raise concerns about the changes being implemented which will not help homeowners facing tax sale.

Purpose: To seek Council approval to facilitate the installation of two new BCAA skysigns on the north and south elevations of an existing building on site. 

Purpose: To seek Council approval for Temporary Use Permit (TUP) #23-04 to permit the use of a retail grocery store that is approximately 596 m² on the subject site for a maximum of three (3) years. 

Purpose: To seek the authorization required under the Burnaby Noise and Sound Abatement Bylaw for outdoor events at specific locations.

Purpose: To seek approval for members of the Community Heritage Commission to attend the 2024 Annual Heritage Conference in Nelson, BC.

Purpose: To provide an update on the environmental assessment report and feasibility of setting aside Study Areas B and C in the Cariboo Heights Community Plan for conservation, as directed by Council.

Purpose: To provide an update on the progress of Burnaby 2050, present the timeline for the remainder of the project, and request feedback on the draft Vision Statement, Values, and Guiding Principles to be included in the Official Community Plan (OCP).

Purpose: to convert the 10 storeys of commercial office space to a hotel use which includes 159 hotel units, and a ground-level hotel lobby with liquor licence

Recommendation:


THAT Sonny Senghera be appointed to the Access Advisory Committee for a three (3) year term; and


THAT this information be released to the Open Council meeting on March 25, 2024.

Recommendation:


THAT Len Soet be approved as Burnaby’s 2023 Outstanding Citizen of the Year, and that the Kushiro Cup presentation take place at the 2024 City Appreciation Dinner on May 3, 2024;


THAT the report titled “2023 Citizen of the Year – Kushiro Cup Award”, dated March 11, 2024, be released at the March 25, 2024, Open Council meeting; and


THAT staff be authorized to contact the recipient and nominators prior to Council’s Open meeting.
